The History of the Harley Owners Group (HOG)
The Harley Owners Group (HOG) was established in 1983 by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company to bring Harley-Davidson owners together under one unified riding community.
What began as a way to strengthen rider loyalty quickly grew into the largest factory-sponsored motorcycle organization in the world. Within its first year, HOG attracted tens of thousands of members — proving that Harley riders weren’t just customers, they were part of a lifestyle.
